BYOB (Bring Your Own Beamer) Vevey is the idea of an ephemeral projection night, an explosion of images in a raw and unusual space. “Le Champignon” (the mushroom), an old white public covered parking lot from the 30′s will become an open museum for the night.

A smell of California dreaming, of old style Hollywood pin up, of seaside and of end of summer, that’s for the setting. For the rest, one remembers we are in 2012, and artists are ready to revisit time, to let shade away that glossy feeling to reinvent the imaginary of the space.

During the last week of the Festival Images in Vevey , in the middle of a city full of still pictures, a window is given to twenty artists from Vevey, from Switzerland and even from Europe, to meet for the occasion and invent a one night show. As the festival proposes a main exhibition SHOOT! – The essentialist photography curated by Clément Cheroux with artists such as Christian Marclay, Roman Signer or Niki de Saint Phalle, this one night event will continue the shooting.

Get ready! From floor to ceiling and without any restrictions, images and sounds will meet, mix and contaminate each other. What will they imagine? What will they propose? What is there to expect? That’s a surprise even for us. We don’t know, no one knows, not even the artists. Carte Blanche were given to Raquel Banea, Estelle Bourdet, Ricardo DaSilva, Pier Giorgio De Pinto, Chloe Delarue, Simon Deppierraz, Jacques Duboux, David Excoffier, Julien Gremaud, Emilie Guenat, Thomas Koenig, Maud Lemonnier, Celine Masson, Collectif Metahub, Piera Peca, Delphine Renault, Maya Rochat, Lisa Roehrich, Rebecca Salvadori and Camille Scherrer to surprise us, and every hour the setting will change, the images will be projected on other walls and the whole meaning of the first proposal will switch to another one, and another one, and again until midnight.

About BYOB: In 2010, Rafaël Rozendaal (*1980) created in Berlin this possibility of an exhibition with a ʻreusableʼ concept, possibility that was then right away taken and reused all over the world. Only imposed rules of the game: find a space, invite many artists, ask them to bring their projectors.
